Sinotruk's parent company, China National Heavy Duty Truck Group, picked up two brand honours in May 2026: first place in the automotive and parts category at China's 2026 Brand Value Evaluation, and 75th place on the Top 100 Chinese Brands with Global Competitiveness list.

Awards are easy to shrug at. This one carries a figure that is not: CNHTC's heavy-duty truck exports have ranked first among Chinese commercial vehicle brands for 21 consecutive years, across a business footprint of more than 150 countries.

Why longevity beats specification

Anyone can sell you a truck with a good spec sheet. The question that decides whether a truck makes money over eight years is narrower and more boring: will the parts still be available, and will somebody know how to fix it?

That question is answered by volume and continuity, not by brochures. A manufacturer that has exported at scale for two decades has a parts catalogue that suppliers keep stocking, service literature that gets translated, and a technician population that has already seen your fault. A brand that arrived last year has none of that, whatever the spec sheet says.

The brand matrix, in plain terms

CNHTC runs several brands at different levels — Yellow River at the premium end, Sitrak in high-end long-haul, and HOWO as the mass-market workhorse. HOWO is the one most Nigerian operators meet, and that positioning is deliberate: it is engineered to be repairable and affordable to run rather than to win specification comparisons.

Our part of it

None of the above helps you if the support stops at the port. That is the gap we exist to close: local assembly in Abia State, a stocked warehouse of genuine components, and diagnostics-led workshops in Abia and Ogun. The manufacturer's scale makes the parts exist; our job is to have them on a shelf you can reach.

Frequently asked

Why should a brand ranking affect which truck I buy?
Because it is a proxy for how long the manufacturer will keep supporting the truck. Parts, service tooling and technical documentation follow volume. A brand exporting at scale for 21 consecutive years is one whose components you will still be able to buy in year eight of ownership.
Does Truckaid supply genuine SINOTRUK parts in Nigeria?
Yes. We hold high-demand HOWO SINOTRUK components in our warehouse and fit only genuine parts in our workshops in Abia and Ogun States. We do not fit copies, and we will tell you when a part has to be ordered rather than pretend it is in stock.
